Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join a leading technology solutions provider in Doha. You will be responsible for the deployment, operation, monitoring, security, and optimisation of enterprise database environments across on‑premises, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and manage database platforms on‑premises, Azure and GCP.
• Handle day‑to‑day administration including user management, backup, recovery, patching and performance tuning.
• Operate hybrid and multi‑cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration between on‑premises, Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, Azure Fabric and Google Cloud databases.
• Design, configure and maintain high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, monitor replication, clustering and failover.
• Monitor performance, optimise queries, indexes and storage, and support capacity planning.
• Manage data‑warehouse and data‑lake operations, including data refresh and loading for analytics.
• Implement security controls, encryption, auditing and compliance with data‑protection policies.
• Support database projects such as migrations, upgrades and modernisation, automate routine tasks and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, application and infrastructure teams and assist business users with database requirements.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of hands‑on experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience managing databases on‑premises and in Azure and Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of high‑availability, disaster‑recovery and performance‑tuning concepts.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical issues clearly.
