Media Industry Research Officer

About the role

The Research Officer/Specialist will lead research on media industry topics, trends and dynamics, reporting to the Director of Strategy & Excellence. This role supports internal and external stakeholders by delivering competitive analyses, maintaining research data, and collaborating with external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research relevant media industry topics, including regional and global trends, sector growth, innovations, and regulatory developments.
• Manage benchmarking analysis of regional and global competitors to keep MCQ’s offerings competitive.
• Summarize research findings in reports for internal and external use and support marketing communications.
• Organise and maintain collected data for easy access and future analysis.
• Develop and maintain a database of prospective tenants in collaboration with Business Development.
• Liaise with universities, research centres, and external providers for surveys and data analysis.
• Utilise advanced data analytics and visualisation tools to derive actionable insights.
• Develop predictive models to forecast industry trends and inform strategic decisions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional research efforts and foster stakeholder relationships.
• Create knowledge‑sharing platforms and training programs to enhance research capabilities.
• Support continuous improvement of research processes and contribute to reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in media industry research, competitive analysis, and data management.
• Strong ability to summarise findings for diverse audiences.
• Experience collaborating with external research partners and internal business units.
• Excellent organisational skills to maintain databases and research assets.
