Principal Piping Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal Piping Engineer to lead the piping discipline on complex oil & gas projects, both onshore and offshore. The role involves driving technical excellence, standardising specifications, and ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support standardisation of equipment specifications, drawings and document templates.
• Apply local and global standards to achieve technical excellence.
• Identify and implement software tools required for effective piping group performance.
• Provide specialist technical support, supervision and advice to discipline and project teams; participate in peer reviews.
• Ensure recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices are adopted for piping design and plant layout.
• Manage project scope, cost and schedule expectations, liaising with other disciplines to ensure success.
• Support change management, corrective actions and staffing decisions with the Project Management Team.
• Plan and monitor discipline quality, drive squad checking and recommend improvements.
• Lead weekly piping meetings, review progress reports and checking procedures.
• Define technical issues, evaluate alternatives and document recommendations through technical queries and deviations.
• Control, monitor and progress discipline deliverables against agreed schedules.
• Lead production of detailed designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and reports.
• Maintain HSE focus, ensuring compliance with OHSE requirements and promoting a safe workplace.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level piping engineering experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Proven experience on both onshore and offshore projects.
• Recent experience leading a team of piping engineers and designers.
• Strong understanding of technical standards, legal requirements and customer specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, cost, schedule and quality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
