Accountant

About the role

Boutiqaat is seeking an experienced Accountant to own the end‑to‑end accounting function, ensure financial accuracy, and turn data into actionable business insight. This role goes beyond routine reporting, encompassing governance, process improvement, and strategic support for management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash, and fixed assets.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing cycles, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS or applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate external audits, provide documentation and resolve audit findings.
• Maintain and update accounting policies, internal controls and segregation of duties.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and provide insightful management reports.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, allocating responsibilities and setting performance expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax legislation and VAT compliance.
• Ability to design and monitor internal financial controls.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on translating complex data into clear insights.
• Leadership experience in managing and developing accounting staff.
