Application Engineer – DX & VRV

About the role

The Application Engineer – DX & VRV will support Daikin’s sales organization by delivering technically sound, optimized HVAC solutions for projects across Qatar. You will work closely with sales, product management, engineering and other internal teams to ensure that DX, VRV and AHU proposals meet customer needs, local regulations and Daikin standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application engineering support from inquiry to order confirmation.
• Design, size and select DX, VRV and AHU equipment using Daikin selection tools.
• Review specifications, tender documents and HVAC drawings to develop compliant, energy‑efficient solutions.
• Validate equipment selections for technical feasibility and commercial competitiveness.
• Prepare technical submittals, equipment schedules, selection reports and other engineering documentation.
• Offer value‑engineering recommendations and alternative solutions.
• Coordinate with product management, factory engineering and other internal teams to resolve technical queries.
• Support quotation preparation with accurate selections, calculations and costing inputs.
• Participate in technical meetings with consultants, customers and contractors.
• Stay up‑to‑date with HVAC technologies, regulations and Daikin product developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC application engineering, technical support or system design, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, equipment selection, psychrometrics, heat‑load calculations and energy‑efficient applications.
• Hands‑on experience with HVAC selection and design software.
