Applications Support Developer

About the role

The Applications Support Developer is responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications across front‑end, server‑side, and database layers. The role ensures that applications remain reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain business applications, including user interfaces, back‑end services, and databases.
• Maintain interfaces and integrations between multiple enterprise systems.
• Implement application enhancements, new functionalities, patches, and regular maintenance releases.
• Test, validate, and prototype new applications, patches, and software updates before production deployment.
• Proactively monitor applications to identify potential issues and prevent outages.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and apply timely resolutions to minimise downtime.
• Execute deployment plans for launches, fixes, changes, and upgrades in line with quality standards and SLAs.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors for system support activities when required.
• Ensure change requests are processed and closed according to defined procedures.
• Apply information‑security controls as defined by the security department and maintain compliance with security policies.
• Maintain accurate system documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Prepare functional statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant IT experience.
• At least 3–5 years of experience designing, developing, installing, configuring, and updating systems and applications.
