Area Supervisor – Soft Services Operations

About the role

The Area Supervisor will lead the Soft Services operation to ensure the highest quality of cleanliness at the airport. This role oversees a large team of 200‑300 employees, managing daily custodial activities and ensuring compliance with FMM standards and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of custodian staff and operational team leaders across the assigned zone.
• Conduct continual inspections to assess cleanliness levels and implement follow‑up actions.
• Identify problem areas, develop solutions, and strive to prevent accidents within the department.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for cleaning supplies, machines, and equipment.
• Schedule and supervise rotational and special cleaning programmes as required.
• Lead, interview, hire, train, evaluate performance and, when necessary, recommend discipline or termination for staff.
• Maintain open communication with managers and ensure safe working conditions throughout the airport.
• Meet and exceed client expectations by delivering excellent service and fostering teamwork.

Required profile

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Business Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Housekeeping or Building Maintenance.
• Professional certifications such as BICSc, FIGR or ISSA are preferred.
• Experience leading large teams in a facilities or airport environment is advantageous.
