Broadcast & Technology Engineer

About the role

The Broadcast & Technology Engineer ensures the reliable operation, maintenance and technical performance of broadcast, AV and media production systems across a media hub. Working closely with the Manager and Lead – Broadcast & Technology, the role supports studios, post‑production rooms, podcast facilities and associated broadcast infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot broadcast and media technology systems, including cameras, vision, audio, lighting, video servers, routers, switchers and intercoms.
• Perform system configuration, testing, commissioning and integration activities.
• Conduct first‑ and second‑level fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential failures and support live productions, studio operations and critical media events.
• Coordinate with vendors and specialist contractors for installation, upgrades, repairs and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, technical logs, incident reports and configuration documentation.
• Review technical documentation, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with standards, HSE, cybersecurity and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Broadcast, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT, Media Technology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on engineering experience in broadcast, media technology, AV or studio environments.
• Professional engineering or broadcast/AV certification is a plus.
