Business Finance Specialist – Commercial (Food & Non-Food)

About the role

As a Business Finance Specialist – Commercial you will act as the finance co‑pilot to the Food General Manager, partnering across Commercial, Finance, Strategy, Product and Marketing. You will own the end‑to‑end P&L, shape commission structures, and provide the data‑driven narrative that guides senior leadership decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the GM in weekly commercial steering meetings and strategic debates.
• Own the full P&L narrative, from revenue and take‑rate to contribution margin and bottom line.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to design restaurant strategies, commission models and joint business plans.
• Challenge commercial assumptions with rigorous analysis and present concise one‑page insights.
• Lead financial cases for new initiatives such as commission tiers, exclusivity deals and marketing co‑investments.
• Co‑own promo strategy by modelling discount impact, basket size, customer LTV and margin trade‑offs.
• Identify risks and opportunities in the Food P&L before they materialise in actuals and propose corrective actions.
• Build and maintain BI dashboards, data pipelines and scorecards that enable self‑serve insights for the GM and leadership team.

Required profile

• Strong background in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering, preferably in fast‑growth tech‑enabled consumer businesses.
• 5+ years of experience, with a proven ability to influence commercial leaders and operate in ambiguous environments.
• Deep understanding of revenue models, unit economics, take‑rate and margin dynamics.
• Opinionated yet constructive, comfortable pushing back when numbers contradict narratives.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
• Experience with enterprise planning tools such as TM1 or IBM Planning Analytics.
• Proficiency in handling large, messy datasets and building BI dashboards.
