Chief Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Accountant to lead our finance team. The role involves overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and manage the accounting team.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts, banks, and inventory.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and financial planning.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a senior supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, taxation and internal controls.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CA or CMA is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERP systems.
• Experience in crude oil or refined products trading operations is a plus.
