Chief Accountant – Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function for our real‑estate portfolio. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decisions across property and project operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for real‑estate projects, properties and business units.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and property‑related accounts.
• Monitor financial transactions related to leasing, rental income, service charges, maintenance and operating expenses.
• Assist in tracking project and property budgets, cash flows and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for property and project accounts.
• Analyse property and project financial performance, identify variances and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to reporting enhancements, process optimisation and strengthening of internal controls.
• Collaborate with Property Management, Leasing, Development and other departments on financial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA, ACCA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in real‑estate, property management or construction.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and analysis.
• Experience with real‑estate or project accounting is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis.
