Commercial Efficiency Manager (Payments)

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Commercial Efficiency Manager (Payments) to join its Distribution team in Doha. The role will own the commercial payment strategy and operational framework for the airline’s indirect distribution channels, ensuring payment method acceptance, cost of sale management, policy governance and performance are delivered with commercial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the indirect channel payment strategy, establishing commercial positions on payment method acceptance, prioritisation, cost targets and policy frameworks across GDS, NDC, aggregators and other indirect channels.
• Develop and own the indirect channel payment roadmap, identifying, prioritising and sequencing payment capability improvements, new method introductions and legacy rationalisation.
• Monitor and manage payment cost of sale across indirect channels, tracking method costs, acquirer fees, scheme charges and processing costs, and producing regular reports for Commercial and Finance teams.
• Drive adoption of preferred, lower‑cost payment methods by working with trade and distribution partners to shift the payment mix and improve net revenue.
• Own and maintain the indirect channel payment policy framework, defining, documenting and enforcing acceptance policies, surcharging rules, local guidelines and agency terms.
