Commis Chef

About the role

Kitopi is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join its central kitchen team. You will support food production across multiple cuisines, ensuring consistency, quality, and safety in a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain recipe standards, food consistency, and accuracy throughout the production process.
• Prepare daily production plans, establish par stock levels, and avoid over‑production.
• Organise coolers and freezers according to food‑safety standards and record temperature logs.
• Check equipment functionality and take corrective action when needed.
• Uphold the highest quality, appearance, and sanitary standards, following the “Clean as you go” policy.
• Perform proper rotation, dating, labeling, and covering of all food items.
• Break down food after production and at shift end, and follow cleaning‑supply procedures.
• Attend daily 15‑minute training sessions and adhere to Kitopi’s brand standards.
• Work a minimum of 48 hours per week, with flexibility to meet operational needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a high‑volume catering or quick‑service restaurant environment.
• Strong understanding of at least one cuisine such as Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, bakery, oriental, international, or butchery.
• Good command of English.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
