Design System Specialist (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design System Specialist to join a leading digital experience and innovation team in Doha. You will establish and scale a design system used across multiple digital products and transformation programmes, bridging UX/UI design and front‑end development to deliver a truly scalable product.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and govern a comprehensive design system covering foundations, patterns, components, documentation and usage guidelines.
• Build and manage scalable Figma libraries and reusable components.
• Define and maintain design tokens for colour, typography, spacing, themes and other foundational properties.
• Establish an automated design‑token pipeline between design and development environments.
• Partner with front‑end developers to build and maintain a coded component library using tools such as Storybook.
• Ensure alignment and traceability between Figma components and production components.
• Define contribution models, versioning, releases and governance processes for the design system.
• Embed accessibility, responsive behaviour and quality assurance into components from the outset.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve the design‑to‑development workflow.
• Drive adoption of the design system across teams and continuously evolve it for scalability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building, scaling or governing enterprise‑level design systems.
• Comfortable operating across both design and technical sides, with expertise in Figma, Storybook, design tokens, accessibility, responsive design, component governance, versioning, documentation and design system architecture.
