Electrical Engineer – Power Generation & Control Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide expert guidance, advanced fault diagnostics, and technical assurance for all power generation, distribution, and control systems across our fleet of drilling rigs. The role ensures electrical safety, regulatory compliance, system reliability, and uninterrupted operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and enforce electrical engineering standards, safety protocols, and maintenance governance within the enterprise asset‑management framework.
• Lead high‑level diagnostics and failure investigations for generators, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS systems, and distribution networks.
• Guide rig electricians through complex troubleshooting, load restoration, and protection‑system interventions.
• Review and enhance preventive‑maintenance strategies, testing intervals, and verification routines for safety‑critical equipment.
• Conduct electrical safety audits covering grounding, insulation resistance, hazardous‑area equipment, protection relay testing, and emergency power systems.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of electrical engineering experience on drilling rigs (jack‑ups or land) with strong exposure to power generation, switchboards, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, and EX equipment.
• Extensive hands‑on experience and OEM training on electrical systems, power‑system protection, and hazardous‑area (EX) installations.
• Proven ability to perform safety audits, fault diagnosis, root‑cause analysis, and reliability engineering.
