Engineer I – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

The Engineer I will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and support the engineering team at The St. Regis Residence in Doha. This role involves a variety of technical tasks across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and hospitality equipment to ensure guest satisfaction and safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually and carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs for building equipment.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and log daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, kitchen equipment and other guestroom items.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air‑handler schedules, adjust temperature settings and perform basic computer‑based inventory duties.
• Follow safety policies, report hazards, store flammable materials properly and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• No supervisory experience required.
