Environmental Engineer

About the role

The Environmental Engineer will join SGS’s environmental services team to monitor and assess air and water quality at industrial sites. The role supports compliance with regulatory standards and contributes to the development of environmental management plans.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stack emission monitoring and performance testing following USEPA standard methods.
• Perform ambient air quality monitoring using real‑time and integrated sampling techniques.
• Carry out indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments to identify workplace exposure risks.
• Execute groundwater sampling, including collection, preservation, chain‑of‑custody management and analytical result interpretation.
• Prepare environmental compliance reports, monitoring reports and technical documentation.
• Develop Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) and Operational Environmental Management Plans (OEMP) in line with project requirements and permit conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering (5‑8 years of relevant experience).
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Medical and physical capability to work safely in extreme climatic and physically demanding environments.
