Facilities Technician – Guest Services

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Technician to handle guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of facilities at The Pearl Island, Doha. The role combines hands‑on repairs, inspections, and coordination with other shifts to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Report daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication procedures.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items.
• Program televisions, update air‑handler schedules, adjust temperature settings, and perform general housekeeping inventory duties.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and general building systems.
• Ability to work safely, follow lockout/tagout, and handle flammable materials responsibly.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and assist with heavier items when required.
