F&B Hostess – Guest Reception & Seating

About the role

The F&B Hostess creates a welcoming first impression for restaurant guests, handling reservations, seating, and guest inquiries while supporting smooth restaurant operations. This role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational abilities to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments.
• Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries professionally.
• Coordinate with servers and restaurant managers to optimise seating.
• Inform guests of menu specials, promotions, and estimated waiting times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception/hostess station.
• Handle guest complaints or special requests courteously and escalate when necessary.
• Monitor table turnover and seating availability.
• Ensure VIP guests and special occasions receive appropriate attention.
• Uphold professional appearance and company service standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, or customer service is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional grooming and presentation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic computer and reservation system knowledge.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
