Field Engineer – NextGen Graduate Program

About the role

Weatherford is looking for recent engineering graduates to join its 4‑year NextGen Field Engineer Technical Development Program in Qatar. You will work on‑site at oil‑ and‑gas rigs, gaining hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge downhole technologies while supporting real‑world well operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deploy and operate advanced downhole tools to meet wellsite objectives.
• Use simulation software to design and optimise solutions tailored to client needs.
• Analyse performance data, recommend improvements and produce detailed post‑job reports.
• Manage equipment logistics and ensure safe, efficient setup at rig locations.
• Provide front‑line engineering support, resolve issues independently and champion safety and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline obtained within the last 24 months.
• Maximum of one year of professional experience.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, think critically and make informed decisions.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts in challenging weather and remote locations.
