Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance and accounting function of a 5‑star luxury hotel, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with USALI and company policies. Working closely with the General Manager and senior team, the role drives budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial analysis to support profitability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Finance & Accounting department, including AP, AR, General Ledger, payroll, treasury and cost‑control.
• Ensure accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end closings and prepare financial statements in line with USALI standards.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections, providing variance analysis to senior management.
• Manage P&L, departmental profitability, revenue analysis and cost‑control initiatives.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and other stakeholders, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in Qatar and 5 years in a 5‑star hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of USALI and hotel financial reporting.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural finance teams and communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
