Financial Controller

About the role

Syntys, a leading data‑center provider in the MENA region, is seeking a Financial Controller to ensure the integrity, control and timely reporting of financial information across the Group and its project entities. The role will lead the accounting team and work closely with senior finance leadership to establish scalable finance processes for a growing regional platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close calendar, delivering accurate financial statements for the Group, subsidiaries and project entities.
• Lead consolidation, inter‑company reconciliation, foreign‑currency accounting and preparation of statutory and management reports in accordance with IFRS.
• Maintain robust balance‑sheet reconciliations, accounting schedules and control reviews, ensuring timely resolution of aged items.
• Prepare performance analysis, cash flow commentary and risk assessments for senior management.
• Develop and enforce the Group accounting manual, chart of accounts, close procedures and internal control framework (ICOFR).
• Assess accounting implications of new contracts, financing arrangements, leases, acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Ensure compliance with delegations of authority, procurement controls, revenue recognition, anti‑fraud measures and record‑retention standards.
• Lead remediation of control deficiencies and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an accounting team in a complex, capital‑intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close, consolidation and inter‑company processes.
• Experience with financial‑control governance, audit coordination and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide clear insight to senior stakeholders.
