GRP Supervisor / Technician – Piping Fabrication & Maintenance

About the role

The GRP Supervisor / Technician will lead and oversee all glass‑reinforced polyester (GRP) piping activities on oil & gas projects, ensuring fabrication, installation, joining, lamination, repair and maintenance are performed to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise GRP piping fabrication, installation, joining, lamination, repair and maintenance on site.
• Conduct and verify site measurements, dimensional checks and field inspections.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with client engineers, inspectors, supervisors and other personnel.
• Monitor and verify that all work follows project specifications, approved procedures, drawings and client requirements.
• Oversee joining and lamination works, applying approved repair procedures.
• Plan and monitor inspection and testing activities, including visual inspection, hardness testing, dimensional checks and hydrostatic testing.
• Identify quality issues, drive corrective actions and ensure final acceptance.
• Maintain documentation and track progress against schedule and quality targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in GRP/FRP piping work, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong practical knowledge of GRP fabrication, installation, joining, lamination and repair.
• Good understanding of oil & gas piping materials, specifications and site practices.
• Familiarity with PTW systems, inspection requirements and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, specifications and repair procedures.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with clients and project teams.
• Leadership capability to supervise site personnel.
