HSSE Country Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HSSE Country Manager to lead health, safety, security and environmental functions for a major project in Qatar. The role reports to senior project management and is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal, client and company HSSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the project HSSE management system in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Provide strategic direction and advice to project management on HSSE compliance and best practices.
• Resource the project with qualified HSSE professionals and oversee their performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities, monitor leading and lagging indicators, and drive continual HSSE improvement.
• Develop and execute waste management plans, emergency response preparedness drills, and project‑specific HSSE procedures.
• Conduct internal audits, trend analysis and assurance reviews to ensure system effectiveness.
• Ensure effective risk management, legal requirement identification and communication.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of HSSE experience in the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Proven leadership in managing HSSE functions at a country or project level.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and local Qatari HSSE regulations.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to influence project personnel.
