Internal Audit Operations Officer (Qatari candidates)

About the role

The Internal Audit Operations Officer will support Commercial Bank Qatar (CBQ) by performing day‑to‑day internal audit activities. The role involves planning, executing, reporting and closing audit assignments to safeguard internal controls and improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input on audit plans and assess adherence to CBQ policies and procedures.
• Plan and execute audit programmes, including risk assessments across bank functions.
• Conduct interviews, gather evidence and evaluate internal controls, policies and practices.
• Identify potential fraud, investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Review audit findings with business units and coordinate with Risk and Legal for remediation.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation.
• Offer independent opinions on compliance and advise on corrective measures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements based on international best practices.

Required profile

• Qatari nationality (including candidates who are Qatari mothers).
• Strong understanding of banking operations and internal control frameworks.
