IT Applications Manager

About the role

The client, operating across the Middle East, is expanding its IT team in Doha and seeks an experienced IT Applications Manager. You will lead the day‑to‑day operation of critical business applications, ensuring they run efficiently and align with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of mission‑critical software applications.
• Plan and execute updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Manage a team of application support specialists and developers.
• Liaise with vendors and service providers, negotiate contracts and monitor SLAs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements.
• Resolve complex technical issues to minimise business disruption.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes and user manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, MIS, CIS or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Professional IT certifications such as PMP, Oracle or software‑development framework certifications.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with 5‑7 years in a managerial role supervising enterprise applications.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in a transport‑focused environment is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills and immediate availability in Doha.
