Librarian, EBM & Systematic Reviews

About the role

The Health Sciences Library seeks a dedicated Librarian specializing in evidence‑based medicine (EBM) and systematic reviews. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for systematic review methodologies, supporting faculty, researchers, students, and clinicians in Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage systematic review, scoping review, and expert literature search services.
• Provide expert assistance using systematic review software tools and guide users on methodologies and reporting standards.
• Design, conduct, and document comprehensive literature searches across biomedical and health‑sciences databases.
• Create and deliver instruction on EBM and systematic review topics in classroom and virtual settings.
• Develop and maintain instructional materials, guides, tutorials, and online learning modules.
• Collaborate with faculty and medical education teams to define learning outcomes and develop specialized collections.
• Serve on the reference desk, answer reference questions, and offer consultation services.

Required profile

• ALA‑accredited Master’s degree in Library or Information Science (or international equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience in an academic library or clinical research environment.
• Prior teaching experience in evidence‑based medicine and familiarity with evidence synthesis is desirable.

Required skills

• Expert searching of biomedical literature and health‑sciences databases.
• Proficiency with systematic review software tools.
• Experience with Integrated Library Systems (ILS) and open‑access web tools.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
