Maintenance Technician – Retail

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures a safe, clean and fully functional environment for visitors and co‑workers at IKEA Qatar. You will maintain the building and mechanical systems so the store remains “Shape as new”, supporting the IKEA brand image. The role combines scheduled preventive work with reactive tasks and requires close collaboration with external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance tasks according to the planned maintenance process.
• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance activities on schedule.
• Conduct inspections of the building, grounds and systems, and act as the primary contact for external service providers.
• Implement facility department routines and procedures, both preventive and reactive.
• Work efficiently to maximise departmental productivity.
• Follow local, state, federal and IKEA safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Promote a service‑oriented approach with all departments.
• Embrace diversity and contribute to IKEA’s culture.
• Utilise basic computer skills to assist with maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• High School or Trade School graduate.
• 1‑3 years of proven experience in building maintenance.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Understanding of fire and security systems.
