MYP English Teacher – IB Middle Years Programme

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a passionate MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. You will work within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, inspiring students to become confident readers, writers and communicators.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver concept‑driven English lessons aligned with the IB MYP curriculum and global contexts.
• Design inquiry‑based learning experiences that develop reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills.
• Assess student work using MYP Language & Literature criteria and provide constructive feedback.
• Create units of inquiry that explore language, literature, intercultural perspectives and ATL skills.
• Support students in preparing for MYP eAssessment in Language & Literature.
• Serve as a Form Tutor and contribute to the pastoral life of the school.
• Collaborate positively with the English department and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP school.
• Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and eAssessment.
• Excellent literacy skills and a genuine passion for language and literature.
• Effective classroom management and communication abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver concept‑driven, inquiry‑based and differentiated lessons.
• Proficiency in using MYP assessment tools and providing feedback.
