Night Auditor

About the role

The Night Auditor ensures the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions processed during the hotel’s overnight period. Working independently, you will safeguard the integrity of revenue data across all hotel outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the nightly audit by reviewing, balancing, and reconciling revenue and payment transactions from rooms, F&B, banquets, spa, recreation, and other revenue centres.
• Verify room rates, postings, allowances, adjustments, paid‑outs, and rebates against approved policies.
• Balance cash, credit‑card, city‑ledger, and accounts‑receivable postings, identifying and investigating any discrepancies.
• Prepare and distribute end‑of‑day audit reports, including revenue reports, trial balances, credit‑card reconciliations, and management financial reports.
• Maintain proper financial documentation, ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, and report irregularities to management.
• Coordinate with Front Office, F&B, and other departments for revenue clarifications and ensure POS, guest ledger, deposit ledger, and AR ledger align with GL entries.
• Conduct weekly spot checks of outlets and cashiers; perform monthly reconciliations of revenues, third‑party payables, and guest ledgers to support month‑end close.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity.
• Ability to work independently during night hours.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of hotel revenue centres and accounting principles.
