Nursing Manager – Healthcare Leadership

About the role

The Nursing Manager leads a specialty nursing area (aeromedical, primary care, lifestyle and performance, or occupational health) to ensure compassionate, high‑quality patient care that meets Qatar’s nursing regulations and professional standards. The role also fosters an inclusive, collaborative culture by providing visible leadership, clinical credibility, and staff empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the line manager and executive team in implementing strategic plans, performance frameworks, and service delivery objectives.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership of specialty nursing teams, working with clinical leads to improve care pathways and patient access.
• Ensure appropriate skill mix, deployment and utilisation of the nursing workforce in line with national and international best practice.
• Monitor, review and redesign nursing practice, evaluating the practice environment and quality of care against current evidence.
• Implement transparent communication strategies, delivering regular briefs to the nursing team.
• Manage performance appraisals, sickness absence monitoring, and adherence to QR standards and protocols.
• Drive a culture of change, innovation and transformation to support clinical leadership and service reconfiguration.
• Ensure facilities meet MOPH, fire safety and IPC standards, conducting patient safety walks and implementing corrective action plans.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in nursing within a specialty area such as aeromedical, primary care, lifestyle performance, or occupational health.
• Strong understanding of Qatar nursing regulations, scope of practice and professional standards.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage staffing mix and promote collaborative practice.
• Experience in performance management, appraisal processes and monitoring staff attendance.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Qatar Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) regulations.
• Familiarity with fire safety and infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
• Capability to design and implement communication strategies for nursing teams.
