Part‑time Peer Reviewer – Internal Medicine (PhD required)

About the role

This is a long‑term, part‑time remote position for a qualified researcher to provide peer‑review services for manuscripts in internal medicine. The role supports the editorial process of an academic journal by ensuring scientific quality and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and relevance.
• Provide constructive, written feedback highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in a relevant biomedical discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms.
