Procurement Category Lead – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

About the role

UCC Trading & Contracting is looking for a seasoned Procurement Category Lead to drive strategic sourcing and procurement of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) systems across its EPC portfolio in Qatar. The role ensures timely delivery of critical equipment while optimizing cost, quality, and schedule performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for E&I equipment and packages across multiple EPC projects.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project schedules and commercial goals.
• Manage RFQs, tender evaluations, bid comparisons, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Review technical and commercial bids, coordinate with engineering to ensure compliance.
• Maintain approved vendor and manufacturer databases and establish long‑term framework agreements.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply‑chain risks.
• Manage supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contract compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, logistics, planning, and project management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of procurement and sourcing experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemical or energy projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations and manage complex supplier relationships.
