Project Cost Controller

About the role

The Project Cost Controller is responsible for establishing project budgets, forecasts, controls and reporting. Working closely with the project team, the role applies cost‑control procedures and conducts cost analysis with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Set up Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with the approved project scope and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Allocate project budget accurately and control budgets for equipment, material purchase orders, sub‑contracts, fabrication and support disciplines.
• Assist in configuring a project‑specific cost control system, including cost databases and reporting templates.
• Evaluate and analyse cost reports, identify issues and communicate cost performance, risks and opportunities to the project management team on a regular basis.
• Prepare, review and update the Estimate at Completion (EAC) cost forecast based on remaining scope, expenditures and commitments.
• Maintain the project change‑management system in line with QFAB procedures.
• Prepare and route monthly progress invoices to the client and provide data for project accounting and revenue recognition.
• Support the Lead Cost Engineer as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering or a related discipline.
• 3‑6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry, with exposure to offshore projects and fabrication.
