QA/QC Engineer (Instrument, Telecom/F&G)

About the role

A 36-month site contract for a QA/QC engineer covering Instrumentation, Telecom and Fire & Gas (F&G) at a project in Mesaieed. The role ensures quality requirements are met across construction sites, supplier facilities and subcontractor works, and supervises contractors, vendors and third-party inspectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review and support approval of QA/QC documentation such as Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs, test procedures and quality records.
• Ensure project QA/QC requirements are implemented at construction sites, supplier facilities and subcontractor works.
• Conduct surveillance and inspections of instrumentation, telecom and F&G installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs and follow corrective and preventive actions to close-out.
• Monitor material test certificates, construction and inspection records, preservation activities, calibration records and IMTE registers.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, vendors, third-party inspectors and QA/QC personnel.
• Take part in quality audits, compliance reviews, pre-qualification audits, walkthroughs and QA/QC meetings.
• Support Quality Surveillance Programs, CMS, ITRs, TIV, FPD and PQHC programs, and monitor quality KPIs and special processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in major Greenfield and Brownfield Oil & Gas, refinery, LNG/NGL, petrochemical or similar process plant projects.
• Experience with major EPC/EPCIC contractors and end users in a similar QA/QC role, responsible for instrumentation and controls construction and commissioning.
• IECEx CoPC, CompEx or equivalent hazardous area certification is desirable; ASQ, CQI or equivalent membership is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC, testing and acceptance criteria for instrumentation, telecom and F&G systems.
• Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing and approving Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs and test procedures.
• Installation, inspection, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation, telecom and F&G systems (ESD, DCS, PCS, SCADA, metering, CCTV, HVAC & BMS, etc.).
• Understanding of international codes and standards (QCS, IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, NFPA, IOGP, Shell DEP).
• Managing inspection teams, quality surveillance programs, audits, QMS and discipline KPIs.
