Quality Assurance & Control Engineer (Construction)

About the role

The Quality Assurance & Control Engineer will ensure that construction projects meet international quality standards and client expectations. Working on‑site, you will implement the Project Quality Management System, oversee inspections, and coordinate with consultants and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project QA/QC Manager in applying the approved Project Quality Plan and IMS procedures on site.
• Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for each construction activity and ensure all material submittals meet project specifications.
• Monitor WIRs, test reports and material inspections, updating the QA/QC Manager and relevant departments on status.
• Verify that inspections are performed according to the Inspection and Test Plan, advise corrective actions, and aim for first‑time pass rates of 90%.
• Maintain records of all inspections, test results, mill certificates and ensure availability for weekly progress meetings.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent certification (UPDA, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQC CQM/CQE).
• Demonstrated experience with quality management systems, ISO 9001, and construction standards such as QCS, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and integrated management systems (QMS/IMS).

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and related quality standards.
• Understanding of construction specifications: QCS, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA.
• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP platforms.
• Ability to prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans, Method Statements and material submittals.
