Quality Control Engineer – Business Intelligence

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer will ensure the reliability and accuracy of Business Intelligence solutions, primarily Power BI dashboards, within a fast‑paced Agile environment. You will work closely with data engineering, development, and business teams to validate data pipelines, models, and reports.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute test plans, cases and scripts for integration, migration, regression and performance testing of Power BI solutions.
• Validate data transformations, data models and data accuracy across dashboards, ensuring correct filters, drill‑throughs, KPIs and calculated measures.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to verify data pipelines and maintain data integrity throughout the reporting layer.
• Identify, log and track defects, manage the defect backlog and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Lead prioritisation of testing activities across multiple mobile, browser‑based and BI projects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, plan test cycles with project managers and provide regular status updates.
• Create and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation with business stakeholders and support post‑implementation functional training.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in quality control and testing of Business Intelligence solutions.
• Hands‑on experience testing Power BI reports, dashboards and data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with data engineers, analysts and developers.
• Familiarity with Agile software development and the full SDLC.
