Rooms Controller – Guest Services

About the role

The Rooms Controller manages room assignments, check‑in and check‑out processes, and ensures guest requests are fulfilled with professionalism at Sheraton Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Assign rooms according to guest preferences and requests.
• Pre‑register designated guests and prepare key packets.
• Organise and coordinate check‑in/pre‑registration for arriving groups.
• Review, track and accommodate room change requests, communicating status to staff.
• Confirm reservations and cancellations; monitor out‑of‑order rooms daily.
• Ensure rates match market codes and document any exceptions.
• Verify and adjust guest billing, securing valid payment.
• File guest paperwork, activate room keys, and manage duplicate reservation checks.
• Run daily reports and follow up with guests to confirm satisfaction.
• Receive, record and relay messages accurately and completely.
• Uphold company policies, appearance standards and confidentiality.
• Assist guests with disabilities and provide courteous service.
• Answer telephones with proper etiquette and communicate clearly.
• Coordinate tasks with other departments and act as a departmental role model.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related hospitality experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications needed.

Required skills

• Experience with POS systems.
• Proficient in using computers for information entry and reporting.
