Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead health and safety initiatives for Al Ali Engineering Co.WLL, ensuring compliance with Qatar regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor workplace health and safety compliance across the University.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, recommending control measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Maintain safety records, certifications, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare periodic safety reports for senior management and recommend improvements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and other safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related field.
• Professional HSE/Safety certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of relevant Safety/HSE experience, preferably in higher education.
• Strong knowledge of Qatar health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.
