Secondary English Teacher – Immediate Start

About the role

Awfaz Global School in Doha is looking for an experienced Secondary English Teacher to join the faculty immediately. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, student‑centred lessons for IGCSE and AS Level programmes and play an active part in the wider school community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality English lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level curricula.
• Prepare students for examinations, including assessment design and feedback.
• Support learners for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL) to achieve academic success.
• Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and senior leadership on curriculum development and student welfare.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Minimum five years recent experience teaching secondary English, preferably IGCSE and AS Level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and examination requirements.
• Experience supporting EAL students.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and professional development commitment.
• Currently residing in Doha and available to start immediately.
