Senior Applications Systems Analyst

About the role

The Senior Applications Systems Analyst will provide specialised IT expertise to support Qatargas' subsurface applications environment, ensuring that critical business functions run smoothly. The role involves close collaboration with subsurface departments to maintain high‑integrity data repositories and to deliver effective application support.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate operational issues, problems and support requests, analyse root causes and propose effective solutions.
• Respond to support requests by modifying systems, developing work‑arounds, manipulating data, reconfiguring applications, training users, producing documentation or escalating to development teams.
• Monitor progress of support requests, keep stakeholders informed and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Perform moderately complex software modifications, specify user interfaces, validation rules, security controls and recovery procedures.
• Carry out routine configuration, installation and re‑configuration of business applications, database management systems and related tools.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define data objects and information flows that meet business needs.
• Define, document and execute medium‑scale projects, managing risks, schedules and quality plans.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies and standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting subsurface software systems such as Wellview, Compass and Petrotrek.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with subsurface departments and IT stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data‑management workflows and high‑integrity data repositories.
• Understanding of information security policies and compliance requirements.
