Senior Field Engineer

About the role

Senior Field Engineer applies engineering practices and knowledge to improve the field engineering discipline within Mcdermott. Acting as the lead offshore engineer, the role provides solutions, prepares mitigation plans for complex problems, and ensures compliance with client specifications and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical project documents after contract award, identify discrepancies, and prepare clarifications.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress to meet schedule and prevent delays.
• Create and verify installation, procurement, and fabrication documentation, ensuring contract compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external subcontractors, defining work sequences, equipment, crew makeup, and duration.
• Prepare cost estimates, bar‑chart schedules, and technical bid submissions, including safe‑work procedures and dive task plans.
• Evaluate subcontractor qualifications and contribute to tender resource and scheduling information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 7–9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with major contractors or consultants.
• 2–3 years of operations and field engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Excel (including macros) and MS Project scheduling software.
• Familiarity with subcontract activities and basic Microsoft Office tools.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
