Senior General Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior General Accountant to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for TradesApp in Doha. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, support month‑end and year‑end closings, and coordinate audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date ledgers, journal entries, accruals, provisions and adjustments.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Manage and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
• Perform bank, balance‑sheet and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and financial analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control activities.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist internal and external auditors with schedules and documentation.
• Identify variances, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience in a corporate environment in Qatar.
• Native‑level proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Currently residing in Qatar.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.
