Senior Manager IT – Next-Gen Passenger Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced aviation technology leader to shape the future of passenger processing at Hamad International Airport. You will be responsible for the strategy, delivery and 24/7 operational performance of critical passenger‑processing technologies, from check‑in to boarding, and will drive next‑generation capabilities such as biometrics, facial recognition and digital identity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a 3‑5 year technology roadmap for passenger‑processing systems, biometrics and identity solutions.
• Lead complex programmes covering self‑service check‑in, automated bag drop, e‑gates, boarding systems and biometric journeys.
• Own end‑to‑end implementation, integration, upgrades and lifecycle management of major systems.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of mission‑critical passenger systems.
• Direct response to major incidents and restore operations swiftly.
• Collaborate with airport stakeholders, airlines, government and border‑control agencies.
• Manage vendors, service contracts, performance metrics and SLAs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements for passenger experience and operational efficiency.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, establish programme governance and drive technology adoption.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, business cases and investment priorities.
• Develop team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Extensive IT management experience in aviation, airport operations or passenger‑processing technology.
• Proven track record delivering complex passenger‑processing systems and integrations.
• Strong programme leadership, operational ownership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
