Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Dishley Holding is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical engineering design of STP, wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, plumbing, RO and pumping station projects in Doha, Qatar. The role involves full‑cycle design work, from concept studies to detailed drawings and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for STP, wastewater, sewage treatment, plumbing, RO, pumping stations and related industrial projects.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed mechanical designs, design calculations and concept studies.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for pumping stations, piping networks, pumps and associated equipment.
• Select, size and specify pumps, valves, piping, mechanical equipment and related systems.
• Produce equipment datasheets, technical specifications, equipment schedules and material schedules.
• Create General Arrangement drawings, piping layouts, isometric drawings, P&IDs, PFDs and other mechanical engineering drawings.
• Develop design calculations, technical reports, design reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Review and evaluate mechanical design drawings, calculations, specifications, equipment datasheets and contractor submissions.
• Assess technical material submittals, shop drawings, equipment submissions and supplier proposals, identifying any deviations from project requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years (60 months) of relevant mechanical engineering experience in STP, wastewater treatment, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, plumbing, RO systems or similar projects.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and coordinate multidisciplinary project activities.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic calculations, equipment selection and piping design.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, material submittals and reviewing contractor submissions.
