Senior Network Engineer

About the role

The Senior Network Engineer will serve as the operational backbone for our network and security function, reporting directly to the Lead. You will own end‑to‑end network and cybersecurity operations, ensuring the environment remains stable, secure, and audit‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day routing and switching infrastructure (core, distribution, access) to guarantee high availability and performance.
• Own operational health of routers, switches, firewalls and related devices, including change management, patching and lifecycle upgrades.
• Lead network security engineering activities across firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN and secure architecture.
• Harden device configurations to CIS and internal security baselines; remediate audit findings.
• Monitor NOC/SOC for incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Prepare and present operational reports, dashboards and risk posture summaries to stakeholders.
• Run operational meetings, stand‑ups and incident reviews, driving actions to closure.
• Act as primary escalation point for critical operational and security issues.
• Plan, execute and validate major changes, including CAB submissions.
• Coordinate with security engineering, infrastructure and application teams to maintain consistent security posture.
• Support capacity planning, network segmentation and disaster‑recovery design.
• Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, runbooks and SOPs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide on‑call support for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing enterprise network and security operations.
• Hands‑on accountability for routing, switching and cybersecurity engineering.
• Strong communication skills to keep leadership informed of status, risks and escalations.
• Ability to lead operational meetings and drive issue resolution.
• Willingness to mentor junior staff and provide on‑call support.
