Senior Quantity Surveyor – MEP Projects

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead the MEP Quantity Surveying team, managing the full commercial lifecycle across multiple MEP projects. This role ensures accurate billing, cost control, and contractual compliance from pre‑contract to final account closure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the MEP QS team, coordinating with project managers, engineers, procurement, finance and technical teams.
• Prepare, review and submit monthly interim payment applications, progress billings and supporting documentation.
• Monitor cash flow, billing targets, receivables and retention releases.
• Identify, prepare, negotiate and follow up on variation orders, change orders and contractual claims.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and site instructions to assess scope changes.
• Prepare detailed cost assessments for variations, including material, labour, installation rates and overheads.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for commercial accuracy.
• Manage extension of time, disruption and prolongation claims in line with FIDIC provisions.
• Produce monthly commercial reports, variation trackers, cost‑to‑complete forecasts and management dashboards.
• Conduct commercial meetings and negotiations with contractors, consultants and clients.
