Senior Researcher – Physiology & Exercise (Doha)

About the role

WHOOP Labs Doha is seeking a Senior Researcher to lead physiology and exercise research initiatives. The role involves designing, executing, and localising study protocols while collaborating with the Boston team to ensure high‑quality data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead multiple physiology and exercise research projects as part of multi‑site data collection.
• Conduct study sessions, provide real‑time movement coaching, and ensure protocol compliance.
• Collaborate with WHOOP Labs Boston to understand project goals, technical constraints, and protocol nuances.
• Localise protocols for execution in Doha, adapting activities, session structure, or samples as needed.
• Develop and maintain research plans, workflows, and deliverables, adjusting to evolving priorities.
• Manage research programs and dependencies using project‑management tools (e.g., Jira) to ensure visibility and on‑time delivery.
• Work closely with Recruitment, Lab Management, and other Researchers to deliver end‑to‑end studies.
• Provide excellent service to lab visitors and communicate findings clearly to inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in research, physiology, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting physiology or performance‑science research.
• Hands‑on experience with AMR, VO2 Max, strength‑assessment protocols or similar.
• Strong project‑ and program‑management abilities, comfortable with tools such as Jira.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic communication welcomed.
