Senior System Administrator

About the role

The Senior System Administrator will ensure the reliable operation, security, and optimisation of Qatar Stock Exchange’s IT infrastructure, both on‑premises and in the cloud. This position covers the full lifecycle of Windows, Linux and virtualised servers, with a strong emphasis on automation, cybersecurity and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise Windows, Linux and virtualised server environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms.
• Manage enterprise cloud services such as Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS, ensuring security and availability.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using PowerShell, Ansible and Terraform.
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and privileged access controls.
• Apply security controls, vulnerability management, patching and regulatory compliance measures.
• Design, test and maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Administer enterprise databases (SQL, Oracle) for high availability and performance.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity and health, producing operational and compliance reports.
• Provide advanced technical support and coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+, ITIL) are highly desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of experience managing enterprise Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, IT governance, identity and access management, backup and disaster recovery.
• Excellent troubleshooting, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
