Senior Venture Control Accountant

About the role

The Senior Venture Control Accountant provides professional advice and guidance on division‑specific financial, accounting, tax and management accounting matters. The role ensures accurate revenue accounting, month‑end reconciliations, cash forecasting and compliance with IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Account for all revenues, ensuring correct invoice coding and month‑end reconciliation to production allocation reports.
• Perform quarterly price‑adjustment reconciliations, post adjustment invoices and manage monthly account reconciliation processes.
• Review operating costs, lease postings, cash calls and ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
• Compile and validate cash forecasts for technical SAP companies, coordinating inputs from finance functions.
• Calculate monthly tax provisions, coordinate asset and material inputs, and prepare tax post‑TPOB regime expiry.
• Contribute to annual financial statements, drafting IFRS‑compliant notes and ensuring internal control standards.
• Prepare monthly shareholder reporting, statistical reports (PPI, QCB, sales, surveys) and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Upload production volume data into BPC, maintain master data, and support annual budgeting and long‑term planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, commerce or any discipline with a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, internal controls, and the Table of Financial Authority (TOFA).
